Here's every animal revealed for GTA 6, now that Rockstar has confirmed the game features an incredible 170 species.
Yesterday's big blowout of new GTA 6 information revealed via Game Informer included Rockstar putting a number on the zoo-sized menagerie of creatures set to feature within its upcoming blockbuster — including 60 birds, more than 30 land mammals, and a variety of fish and reptiles. Also, we got confirmation that the game will actually feature at least one zoo for you to visit.
“Florida has a diverse animal ecosystem that we wanted to faithfully include across the different biomes in Leonida – urban and rural environs, aquatic life both inland and ocean, and the wetland habitats like the swamps and Everglades,” Rockstar vice president of dynamic art, Michael Kane, told Game Informer.
“The animal art and population teams are incredibly passionate about delivering animals that are accurately researched and look visually correct in every respect, alongside the supporting movement and animation to bring them to life.”
With that in mind, now seemed a great time to list every animal we have personally spotted so far, based on Rockstar's trailers, the Extended Look, and every single screenshot released to date, as well as confirmed sightings by those who have had a chance to preview a near-final build of the game, and of course what Rockstar has confirmed.
While we've tried to be exhaustive, there are still plenty of species that Rockstar is deliberately keeping under wraps (our list contains around 50 animals, so less than a third of the final total).
There's also plenty of speculation online around what else may be included in the full game, based on their appearance in prior Rockstar games or even past leaks for GTA 6 — but we've left these species out as they remain unconfirmed for now. (Sorry, possum fans — no doubt your time will come. And no, we're not 100% on that rat sillhouette, so we haven't included that either.)
