Sarah J. Maas announced two new books in her popular A Court of Thorns and Roses series earlier this year. Books six and seven are set for back-to-back releases in October 2026 and January 2027. If you haven't already preordered copies of these books, Target has just added both of them to its 'buy 2, get 1 free' sale this week.

The next book in the series, A Court of Splintered Harmony, arrives more than five years after the last release. The new book will focus on the Valkyries and expand upon the best selling romantasy book series that Maas has been able to create.

Buy 2, Get 1 Free ACOTAR Preorders

Target's buy 2, get 1 free book sale is currently set to end on October 10, but it's unclear how long these preorders will be included. Amazon has a similar competing sale going on and has been regularly removing some of the best deals throughout its Prime Big Deal Days event. As of right now, though, this is by far the best deal we've seen on the new ACOTAR books. In addition to discounts on the hardcovers and the BOGO promotion, Target also offers exclusive gifts with each book you won't find anywhere else.

As for how this sale actually works, all you need to do is add three eligible items to your cart and Target will automatically discount the price of the cheapest one at checkout. It is a buy 2, get 1 free sale so even if you preorder both books you will need to add something else to take advantage of that discount.

If you don't already own any of the physical ACOTAR books, I'd recommend grabbing the box set that's also included in the sale. It includes all five of the previously released paperbacks in a nice little case. Target has plenty of other book deals to check out, though, including the most recent Harry Potter Illustrated Edition. As long as you add three eligible books to your cart, you'll be able to get the discount.

The Future of ACOTAR

Sarah J. Maas has been hard at work expanding her romantasy universe this year. There had been a Hulu series in the works, but after it was scrapped last year Maas had to jump through various hoops to regain the rights to her books. Since then the franchise has been focusing on tabletop adaptations and other merchandise opportunities. Maas has also stated that an eighth book is in the works, but no other details have been revealed at this time.
