Liu Cixin's The Three-Body Problem trilogy is widely regarded as one of the best science fiction epics of the modern era, and that story has reached an even wider audience lately thanks to the Netflix series. If you're a fan of the books and want to own them in the finest version possible, then you'll be pleased to know that The Folio Society is releasing a lavish new hardcover called The Three-Body Problem Trilogy: Remembrance of Earth's Past.

IGN can exclusively debut some of Matt Griffin's stunning artwork featured inside this illustrated hardcover. Get a closer look in the slideshow gallery below:

The Three-Body Problem Trilogy: Remembrance of Earth's Past collects all three books in the series - The Three-Body Problem, The Dark Forest, and Death's End. The book features art and design work by Griffin and includes a brand-new introduction by the author never before published in English.

The Folio Society's official description teases:

The 1344-page limited edition will feature a special box design, lining, frontispiece, cover design, as well as 3 black & white integrated title-page spreads (one for each book in the trilogy), and 15 color illustrations including 3 double page spreads, all by the award-winning illustrator Matt Griffin. Bound in printed cloth with a design by Matt Griffin and blocked lettering by Steve O Connell, the limited edition also features blocked endpapers on Sirio Color Dark Blue paper, a ribbon marker, printed book edges, an outer Clamshell covered in holographic blocked cloth, and a copper holographic blocked paper lining. The lining features real three-body simulations created by Matt Griffin using a program from MIT which he received special permission to use.

“Starting with the Chinese Cultural Revolution and spanning some 18 million years into the future, Liu Cixin's masterpiece is as broad as it is compelling,” said Folio Society Editor James Rose in a statement. “A tale of humanity's struggle, and that of a civilisation fighting for its very existence, this dares to answer the question: 'Are we alone in the Universe?'. Beautifully and brilliant evoked in Matt Griffin's artwork, this is the ultimate edition of a science-fiction phenomenon. Fans of the series, anyone interested in sci-fi and hard science, and new readers alike will be awestruck by this edition.”

The Three-Body Problem Trilogy: Remembrance of Earth's Past is priced at £550 / US $780 and will be available to preorder beginning on September 8 on the Folio Society website.

In IGN's 3 Body Problem review, Jordan Hoffman writes, "3 Body Problem reworks Cixin Liu’s mammoth book trilogy for a wider audience to great success, though it may annoy some viewers with its far-out sci-fi and speed-of-light plot machinations. Some sequences work better than others – like the video game side story delivering a soupçon of cringe – but many of the performances and one shocking sequence make for a more-than-worthy adaption of the beloved franchise."
