Carcassonne was first released way back in 2000 and over two decades and millions of sold copies later, it's still a highly recommended board game for newcomers. Carcassonne normally retails for $41.99, but right now Bullseye Deals via eBay has it on sale for a mere $14.99 with free shipping. This is the best price I've seen in recent years; the lowest price on Amazon was $17 and that was back in 2024.

Carcassonne Drops to the Lowest Price in Years
Carcassonne is a classic tile placement strategy board game for two to five players and an average playtime of around 35 minutes. During each turn, a player draws and places landscape tiles, which includes roads, cities, fields, and monasteries. Each player can also deploy up to seven meeples to claim features and score points. For example, a farmer tills a field, monks inhabit monasteries, knights guard cities, and highwaymen lurk on roads. Like any good board game, Carcassonne is a mostly strategic game with a healthy dose of luck, so every game is different and there is tons of replayability. It's also a great game for newcomers because the rules are simple and the gameplay is intuitive. It's easy to get into it but takes time to master.
