How tall is Jack Skellington? Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas is an animated movie, so there hasn't been any sort of official confirmation of the iconic skeleton's measurements. Thankfully, Target is selling a Jack Skellington decoration in its larger Halloween sale that gives us the most accurate estimate we've seen so far.
According to the listing, Skellington stands at 6'6" tall. This is an officially licensed Disney product and clearly states this version of the skeleton is "life-size", so it's the closest thing to canon we'll likely ever get.
Note: Target's Halloween decoration sale is online-only and will end on September 26.
Jack Skellington's true height has been a subject of debate since the movie came out. There's an entire Reddit thread that goes into his potential proportions as well as his apparent fire-resistance. While that thread theorizes that he's actually 11 feet tall, 6'6" seems a lot more reasonable. He towers over the mayor of Halloween Town, sure, but he's only about a head taller than Sally.
As for the actual decoration, it's a fully-realized Jack Skellington figure that is able to stand on its own. He's dressed up in his pinstripe suit and can sing "Jack's Lament" while moving his arm and hand around. It's normally priced at $329.99, but Target is offering a 20% off sale that drops the price down pretty significantly.

Speaking of The Nightmare Before Christmas, it's worth calling out that the iconic LEGO set for the movie is officially "retiring soon." LEGO recently added the set to its list of sets that are going to be disappearing, most likely at the end of 2026. We had the pleasure of building this set ourselves when it first came out and absolutely loved its dedication to the film.
