The Dungeon Crawler Carl series has absolutely blown up this year. Matt Dinniman's LitRPG story has created some truly dedicated fans who are showing up in droves to support DCC as it transitions to a major franchise.
IGN's Blythe Dujardin is on the ground at NYCC this week and can confirm that Dungeon Crawler Carl is there in force this year. Most notably, all of the new action figures and toys were on full display at the show. We even got a closer look at three of the Princess Donut plushies that come in the upcoming blind box.
The Princess Posse Plush Blind Boxes were first announced back at the end of August, but we haven't gotten much more information about them since then. You can currently preorder these blind boxes directly from EBGames Canada for $19.99 with an October 30 release date.
According to information from the product page, each blind box includes one Princess Donut plush with a total of six different variations available. There doesn't seem to be a U.S.-based listing available yet, so it's unclear when you can expect them to drop in the states.
With the sudden rise in popularity, the merch side of the franchise is still trying to catch up. Playmates announced a new line of DCC action figures back in February, for example, but they are still rolling those out to major retailers this month.
The very popular Dungeon Crawler Carl tabletop games are still a couple months away, as well. The incredibly successful crowdfunding campaign wrapped up in May with just over $13 million raised for the project, which has likely sped up production, but we're still looking at a December release date for the commercial product.
With the Dungeon Crawler Carl TV series in the works at Peacock and two more books still on the way, this is likely only the first wave of DCC merch we'll see over the years. If you haven't already read the books, you can check out our guide to the series for more information.
