Nearly 4 million people tuned into co-streams of the Grand Theft Auto VI Extended Look on Netflix last week. That’s according to Stream Charts who collected the data.

The 27 minute long video premiered first on Netflix meaning there was a paywall to see it before it came to social media platforms such as YouTube. Despite that, anyone was free to livestream the presentation as long as they reacted to it. The streaming service published figures for its first few days of airing and it achieved over 30 million views. That’s just counting those with a Netflix account.

How Big Was The Extended Look Live?

As per Stream Charts, there was a peak of more than 3.97 million viewers across livestreaming platforms watched the Grand Theft Auto VI Extended Look reaction streams. This surpasses all other major gaming showcases held in 2026 so far. The previously leader was Summer Game Fest with 3.81 million.

That figure is spread across 9038 streamers that jointly re-streamed the GTA VI presentation. This let to a collective 5.2 million hours watched. The biggest single stream was by IlloJuan with had a concurrent peak of 233,520. Rubius had 191,056 and IShowSpeed clocked in 3rd place with 177,887.

In terms of viewership share, Twitch had 44% of total livestreaming hours watched and had the largest number of channels. YouTube and Kick followed the Amazon-owned platform with shares of 34.8% and 20.2%.

“More than 100,000 messages about GTA VI were posted across livestreaming chats during the three-hour analysis period. Most were neutral in tone, including viewers repeating the game’s title, discussing the launch of a dedicated GTA VI category on Twitch, and answering questions from other users.”

Positive messages only accounted for roughly 11-15% of the analyzed conversations. These were mostly praising the game’s visuals and gameplay. Meanwhile there were more negative messages: 17-20%. However, most of this sentiment was directed at technical issues on Twitch and Netflix rather than the game itself. That said, a sizeable portion of viewers “did criticize the presentation directly, including comparisons of the game to an expensive GTA V expansion.”
