The GTA 6 download size has finally been revealed. After years of rumours about how the game could exceed 300GB, we finally know it is the biggest game yet.
The final, full download size of GTA VI comes from the ever reliable PlayStation Game Size Twitter account. They scrape the PlayStation Store database backend for details on upcoming updates and pre-load sizes. They’re always reliable as the details come directly from the PS Store.
According to the Twitter account, the game will clock in at 210GB. That’s right, you’ll have to download over 200GB to play Grand Theft Auto VI. As we already know, pre-loading begins on November 12th so fans will have a whole week to get the game ready to be played for midnight, local time, on November 19th. Physical code-in-box copies will also be delivered/appear in shops on November 12th so it can be pre-loaded too.
Something to keep in mind is PS5 games can take advantage of a better compression algorithm. The XBOX Series X version of the game will likely be a bit more. Meanwhile Series S could see a smaller size with removal of things such as 4K assets. We’ll have to wait and see until November 12th before those install sizes are revealed. Achievements/Trophies will likely pop up any day now too.
This follows news on how the game is now in the hands of reviewers and likely a number of content creators. They all have over 3 weeks early access to the game for review purposes. The game’s review embargo has also been revealed meaning spoilers will appear before the game comes out. Learn more here.
