Amazon Prime subscribers will be getting a lot out of the Prime Video streaming service this October. This is largely thanks to some of the biggest movie franchises like James Bond, Rocky, and Indiana Jones making their way to the platform starting on October 1. Oh and there's also a new miniseries based on Stepen King's Carrie that could be really good.
If you're wondering how to make the most of your Prime Video subscription next month, I've curated a quick selection of movies and shows that are absolutely worth your time. You can also jump to the full list of October releases to see the full breakdown by day.
What's Worth Watching?
The James Bond Movies - October 1
If you've been following James Bond news over the past couple of years, it shouldn't be a surprise to see the spy films coming to Prime Video this month. Amazon paid $20 million for the Bond franchise back in 2025 and is now working on a new movie. The first step? Finding the next James Bond actor.
As of October 1 you'll be able to stream the entire James Bond movie collection from every Bond actor to ever play the role.
The John Wick Movies - October 1
The John Wick franchise has some of the best action movie scenes of all time. Keanu Reeves delivers a terrific performance as the grizzled assassin just trying to retire, and the series has only gotten better with time. John Wick: Chapter 4 was one of those rare movies we gave a perfect 10 out of 10, proving sequels can be terrific if done right. All four John Wick movies will be coming to Prime Video starting on October 1.
The Indiana Jones Movies - October 1
Four of the five Indiana Jones movies will be coming to Prime Video. The only film being skipped over will be the latest one, Dial of Destiny, which is arguably the worst in the series. IGN gave the fifth and final film a 4 out of 10 in our review, saying: "Earnest final efforts from Harrison Ford and John Williams couldn’t rescue a movie so directionless and haphazard."
With most of the films finally coming to a streaming service outside of Disney+ and Paramount+, October is the perfect time to have yourself an Indy movie marathon.
Carrie Season 1 - October 7
Stephen King's Carrie has already been adapted several times since, but Amazon is bringing it back once again. Prime Video's Carrie will be an eight episode miniseries starring Sissy Spacek. The new series is led by Mike Flanagan, who has continued to make a name for himself with popular horror projects like The Haunting of Hill House and Doctor Sleep. All eight episodes of the series will be dropping on Prime Video on October 7.
Scream 7 - October 16
The Scream franchise has been experiencing a true renaissance, starting with Scream 5 back in 2022. This year we saw the release of the seventh movie in the series, and it's finally coming to a streaming service. Our 6 out of 10 review of Scream 7 wasn't as positive as our review of the last movie, but we did find it overall worth watching if you're a fan of the franchise.

Prime Video Subscription Options
Anyone who already has an Amazon Prime membership will automatically have access to Prime Video. There's a 30-day free trial available for new subscribers as well as a 6-month free trial for young adults (under 25). That subscription will get you access to the Prime Video streaming library with ads, so you'll still need to pay a bit extra to go ad-free.
Amazon raised prices for its ad-free streaming tier earlier this year while rebranding it to Prime Video Ultra. As of April 2026, you'll need to pay an additional $4.99 per month to remove the ads from your service.
