Amazon has revealed its 2026 line of Kindle devices just a few days before its Prime Big Deal Days sale. The refresh includes a brand new Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite, and Kindle Colorsoft, along with new accessories and Kids Editions of these tablets.
All of the new devices and accessories are now available to buy or preorder on Amazon, and you can check out the official press release for specifics on each device. With the release of new models, older Kindle devices are getting discounted as part of Amazon's sale as well.
New Kindle Device Pricing and Details
Amazon releases new Kindle devices pretty much every year, and in the past, the improvements were incremental. The biggest changes to the 2026 models include Amazon making them thinner, lighter, and faster than previous iterations of the e-readers. It also introduced aluminum hardware options and other highly requested features like cover page turning for their new Signature Editions of the Paperwhite and Colorsoft models.
According to Amazon's press release, the new standard Kindle will be 30% faster when opening books and will have edge-to-edge color across the full lineup.
The Kindle is still arguably the best reading tablet on the market. With Amazon removing support for older device models earlier this year, it's worth considering an upgrade to a newer version.
It's important to note that all Kindle devices released after 2024 will include most of the latest features and will be compatible with newer accessories via Bluetooth.
The Kindle Click Is the Best New Accessory
A Kindle is already pretty convenient, but what if it could be even more convenient? Amazon has announced a remote that will turn the pages for you. Third-party Kindle page-turners have been available for years now, but this is the first time Amazon has made a Bluetooth-compatible version that doesn't actually need to physically touch the screen to get the page to turn. At $34.99, the new Amazon Kindle Click will work with any Kindle model released in 2024 or later. It's currently set to release on October 28 alongside most of the new 2026 Kindles.
In addition to the remote, Amazon is also releasing new Kindle covers that include physical page-turning buttons. Both of these new accessories are bringing back a physical experience to an otherwise digital product.
