Garena has officially announced Palworld Online, a mobile MMORPG spinoff of Pocketpair's monster-taming survival game, developed and published by Garena under an official license from Pocketpair, with a 2026 release window on mobile platforms. Further details are expected soon.

Rather than a port of the existing game, Palworld Online features a new narrative setting distinct from the main game's story, along with additional side stories created specifically for this MMORPG. The game aims to preserve the core elements of the original - Pal capture, base-building, and survival and crafting elements - inside a persistent shared world designed for mobile play.

What's Confirmed So Far

  • Developer and publisher: Garena, under official license from Pocketpair
  • Platforms: Mobile devices
  • Release window: 2026; no specific date announced
  • World structure: Seamless open world with multiple regions to unlock progressively
  • Story: New narrative setting distinct from the main Palworld game, plus additional side stories
  • Core mechanics: Pal capture and raising, base-building, survival and crafting elements, and Pals deployed to automate production and defend settlements
  • Multiplayer: Group play, shared bases, PvE encounters, and PvP
  • Mobile optimization: Touch-friendly UI and one-tap controls designed for mobile play

Two Mobile Palworld Projects, One IP

Garena's entry is a distinct project from the separate Palworld Mobile adaptation being developed with Krafton, which targets a closer translation of the main survival game. Pocketpair is effectively running parallel mobile strategies - one leaning into the MMORPG shared-world format through Garena, one replicating the core PC experience through Krafton.

Garena's president Terry Zhao described the goal as bringing the essence of the PC title to mobile in a way that encourages players to connect and venture together, while preserving the depth and freedom the franchise is known for. Pocketpair's CEO Takuro Mizobe credited Garena's experience in global publishing, localisation, and live operations as the rationale for the partnership.

Garena also handles publishing duties for Monster Hunter Outlanders in Southeast Asia, reflecting the company's broader push into licensed cooperative action experiences on mobile. Whether the MMORPG structure adds enough to distinguish Palworld Online from the crowded monster-collecting mobile space is the real question, and one that won't be answerable until Garena reveals more concrete systems ahead of launch.

More detailed gameplay reveals are expected as Garena moves toward pre-registration and closed beta campaigns ahead of the 2026 launch.
