Daybreak Game Company has published its April 2026 Producer's Letter for EverQuest II - the MMORPG now entering its 22nd year - confirming a new Time Locked Expansion server, an Origins Beta window for Rise of Kunark, a server merge, and a long-overdue fix to the character creation flow.

The headliner is Wuoshi, the game's 2026 TLE server, launching in June. It opens in the Echoes of Faydwer expansion state and runs through Chaos Descending, operates as a Free Trade server, and will be eligible for nearly all live holiday events from day one - only Tinkerfest carries a limited activity set at launch.

What's Confirmed for April and May

  • Origins Beta - Rise of Kunark: Beta opens April 14, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. PT and runs until April 27, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. PT on the Origins ruleset servers.
  • Zarrakon server merge: The Zarrakon server will be merged into Antonia Bayle next month; Daybreak has published a dedicated article for players with questions about the transition.
  • Character Creation Flow redesign: Server selection is moving to the beginning of the creation process rather than the end, eliminating the current problem where class or feature availability is unknown until after a player has already invested time building a character. Each server listing will also display its current expansion and ruleset details.
  • Wuoshi TLE server: June launch; Echoes of Faydwer starting expansion; Free Trade ruleset; broad live-event participation from open.

The character creation fix is genuinely overdue. The current flow - where server selection comes last - has been a consistent friction point for new players and returning veterans rolling on TLE servers, since discovering a class is unavailable after the fact means scrapping the whole session and starting over. Moving server selection to the front is a straightforward usability call that will matter most as Wuoshi draws in players unfamiliar with EQ2's ruleset fragmentation.

Because Wuoshi launches with so many active expansions already in scope, it will be able to participate in nearly all live events from the start. The Free Trade designation keeps it accessible to the trading-focused crowd who sat out more restricted rulesets.

Head of Studio Jenn Chan also teased the 2026 expansion with a cryptic narrative hook set in The Crossroads. The teaser poses an in-world mystery - a strangely coded missive found on the road - and closes with the line Words are power, but no expansion title, systems, or release window were included in the letter.
